If all things rustic are your cup of tea, you will love that set of faux gift boxes decorated for Christmas. Some wood canvases in different sizes, ribbon assortment, pine cones, a bell, a lace ribbon, some garland ties, a jute string, and some Waverly chalk paint in mineral and truffle are the handful of items this set calls for.

Once the prints and paper on the canvases are removed and the surface is sanded for a roughened up look, Katelyn coats them with a nice layer of truffle-hued paint. Another layer of white helps to achieve a distressed paint texture. A thick ribbon in a black and red checkered pattern is glued to the middle of the canvas, adding another burlap ribbon above the former. That bunch of a large ribbon bow, a cute white ribbon bow, some pinecones, a jingle bell and Xmas tree branches adorning the box are totally to-die-for!

Magical sleds are one of the most immediate things crossing the mind when speaking of Christmas or Santa. So we totally adore this wooden sled cutout which is actually a sled sign from the Dollar Tree. That distressed touch to the sign is a work of some sandpaper rubbed thoroughly on the surface, applying a coat of brown paint throughout. Mineral chalk paint going for a second coat turns the sign into a vintage thing of beauty, finished with some clever brush strokes to paint a wood-like pattern.

Embellishment bunches cast their spell once again when a group of faux berry branches, pine branches, pine cones, and a burlap ribbon bow adhere to one side of the sled. The cherry on the cake here is the alphabets spelling JOY glued to the bottom of the sled.

No doubt, each of the two ideas are a must-try, but we are head over heels in love with the third one – a tabletop book decor that sports a message saying Merry Little Christmas, wherein one word is written on the sides of one book each.

What you need to do is to remove the cover of the books, and going for some sandpaper to get rid of any remaining paper or glue. Katelyn assembles three books together, painting their spines with white chalk paint. A little white glue applied between the books helps to keep them stacked together in a definite orientation, further tying the bundle with a jute string. How could the extra decor be forgotten – so a ribbon bow, some pinecones, and sparkling pine branches yet again!

The subtle yet glorious vibe that these farmhouse decorations add to the space is so versatile that you can club them with similar themes or even the brightest of Xmas decor elements without a hint of mismatch. Merry Xmas!
